A Different Kind Of Love

11 November 2010

The St. Lawrence O'Toole Teen Club, run by Mary Ellen Tiernan and a 6th Grade CCD class, taught by Maureen DelGuidice, each spent an hour session creating Valentine cards on Graphics-Toolbox software to send to the critically ill.

None of the students had ever used Graphics-Toolbox before and they had a selection of Valentine- themed images to choose from.
Their personalities shined through as they selected their graphics, laid out their card using fancy lines and ribbons and typed their message in their favorite font. The final results were half letter size - 8" wide x 5" high and we printed them on glossy photo paper to capture the vibrancy of the images.

The teen club will be sending their cards to Rosary Hill Home, a hospice in Hawthorne, NY; the 6th graders are sending theirs to Calvary Hospital in Bronx, NY, a facility for advanced cancer patients.

They are hoping that the inspiring and colorful graphics will brighten the difficult days of these patients and send the message that they are remembered during this season of love.
